American conductor Michael Stern, Music Director of the Kansas City Symphony, leads the BSO in an exploration of Bartok’s suite from the scandalous ballet The Miraculous Mandarin. Imani Winds joins the BSO for Valerie Coleman’s Phenomenal Women. With movements dedicated to inspirational women like Maya Angelou, Serena Williams, and Michelle Obama, this work embodies the success over adversity they have achieved.
