RESILIENCE: A Recital for the Benefit of Hermandad, Inc.

Enjoy a live recital with commentary devoted to the benefit of Hermandad, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the educational, physical, and spiritual needs of the indigent and underserved populations within communities of Puerto Rico.

This program is titled Resilience.

Beethoven endured hearing loss and managed to continue his career as a musician.

Robert and Clara Schumann, though desperately in love, were opposed by Clara’s father and prevented from marrying. They persevered, taking the matter to court, eventually winning their right to marry.

Shostakovich endured political persecution with threats of violence and intimidation from the Stalin regime toward both himself and his family. Despite these obstacles, he continued to write music for the Russian people.

Enjoy the music of these resilient composers as a celebration of the resilience of the people of Puerto Rico.
